Born and raised on Oahu, Lorraine is the youngest of four girls. Her father, Henry Mondo, who worked for many years in construction and then became a small business owner, taught her to treat people with respect when doing business with them and to always have a positive outlook on life. Her mother, Misako, was born and raised in Japan then moved to the United States shortly after World War II. From her, Lorraine learned the importance of adapting to a very different culture and ultimately, making it your own.
